Wow! City Government's Official Car Rental Budget Reaches Rp19 Billion
Tangsellife.com - The budget for official vehicle rentals within the South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot Tangsel) is once again in the spotlight. In 2026, the budget prepared for renting official cars for officials will reach almost Rp20 billion in a year.
Based on data from the South Tangerang City LPSE General Procurement Plan System (RUP), the official vehicle rental procurement package is recorded at Rp19,953,672,920. This budget is allocated for operational vehicle rental needs during the period of January to December 2026.
Around 200 Official Cars Rented
The Head of the General Affairs Division of the Regional Secretariat (Setda) of South Tangerang City, Herman Susilo, confirmed the existence of this budget. According to him, the budget managed by Setda is around Rp17 billion, with approximately 200 vehicles being rented.
"The last budget was Rp17 billion, if I'm not mistaken. Around 200 units," said Herman when met at the Official Residence of the Mayor of South Tangerang City on Monday (07/06/2026).
Herman explained that the policy of using official vehicles through a rental system is not new. This scheme began to be implemented in late 2022 and was fully operational in 2023.
"Rental official cars started in 2023, or late 2022 if I'm not mistaken," he said.
He added that the rental cost for each vehicle varies, depending on the type and specifications of the vehicle used by each official.
"(The budget) per year varies, depending on the car," explained Herman.
Budget Increases by More Than Rp2 Billion
Based on the RUP LPSE document search, the official vehicle rental budget in 2026 has increased compared to the previous year.
In 2025, the official vehicle rental budget was recorded at Rp17,885,768,692 for the rental period of January to December.
Meanwhile, in 2026, the value increased to Rp19,953,672,920, an increase of approximately Rp2.07 billion.
This increase brings the total budget for official vehicle rentals for the South Tangerang City Government close to Rp20 billion in one fiscal year.
