Mosques Encouraged to Become Community Activity Centers
According to Asep, places of worship play an important role in community development, especially for the younger generation. Therefore, the presence of internet access in mosque environments is expected to support various positive and productive activities.
"Mosques must become centers for community activities and the development of the younger generation," Asep said in his statement on Wednesday (24/6/2026).

This policy is also part of an effort to build an integrated digital city ecosystem with public services and community needs.
Digital Mosque Program Strengthens Da'wah in the Digital Space
In addition to providing internet infrastructure, Diskominfo Tangsel also runs the Digital Mosque program to strengthen digital literacy and religious activities in cyberspace.
The program is designed to help mosque administrators utilize technology as a means for wider dissemination of information and religious da'wah.
"Through the program titled Digital Mosque, Pemkot is present to expand da'wah. Diskominfo acts as a bridge for the publication and amplification of Islamic da'wah in the digital space," said Asep.
City Government Anticipates Misuse of Technology
Although continuously expanding free internet access, Pemkot Tangsel is aware of the potential for misuse of digital technology. Therefore, strengthening community capacity and digital literacy is also a main focus of the program.
Through education and assistance, the government hopes that the community can utilize the internet wisely, productively, and responsibly to support regional development and improve the quality of social and economic life of its citizens.
