Tangsel City Administration Prepares High-Speed Internet for Mosque Youth AI and Coding Training
Tangsellife.com - The Tangerang Selatan (Tangsel) City Government continues to push for digital transformation down to the community level. This time, the City Government, through the Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo), is preparing internet infrastructure to support Artificial Intelligence (AI), coding, and digital literacy training for mosque youth.
The program will be implemented through the GPS Digital Academy & Innovation Center, a collaboration between Gerakan Pejuang Shubuh (GPS) Tangsel and Diskominfo Tangsel, which has now opened participant registration.
Mosques as Digital Literacy Hubs
Head of Diskominfo for Tangsel City, TB Asep Nurdin, said that mosques play a strategic role as centers for social activities and human resource development in the digital era.
According to him, technology literacy programs should not only develop within the bureaucracy but also reach community groups, including places of worship.
"We welcome the initiative from GPS Tangsel. For us at Diskominfo, mosques are very strategic social nodes. Through the GPS Digital Academy, we are not just talking about basic digital literacy, but how public facilities and communities can synchronize with the city's digital transformation development direction," said Asep in his statement on Thursday (25/6/2026).
Diskominfo Prepares Internet Infrastructure
As a form of support for the program, Diskominfo Tangsel will facilitate digital infrastructure needs, including providing high-speed internet networks at training locations.
In addition, the government will also integrate the program with various public spaces owned by the City Government that can be utilized as centers for collaboration and learning.
"Fast internet access and technical support will be ensured to flow to the training center points so that coding classes and AI introduction materials can run without technical obstacles," said Asep.
AI and Coding Training Must Have Clear Targets
Asep emphasized that training programs should not stop at the learning process or the number of registered participants.
He hopes that all provided materials will have clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with the current needs of the digital industry.
According to him, participants learning digital content creation are expected to be able to produce positive narratives in the digital space, while participants in coding and AI classes are expected to be able to create solutions to various problems in their surrounding environment.
"We don't want registration to be full and then the training to end without follow-up. The output of this program must be clear and provide real benefits to the community," he said.
Encouraging the Development of Tangsel's Digital Services
The Tangsel City Government also hopes that participants will be able to contribute to the development of various digital services already owned by the local government.
This way, the skills acquired during the training will not only be individual skills but can also be utilized to support public services and technology-based city development.
Asep said that the GPS Digital Academy is expected to become a pilot project that can later be replicated by various other community groups.
"Digital transformation in Tangsel is now directed to be more grounded, moving from mosques towards a smarter and more sustainable city integration," he explained.
GPS Tangsel Aims to Create Tech-Savvy Mosque Generations
Meanwhile, the Chairman of GPS Tangsel, Ustaz Muhammad Sartono, explained that the GPS Digital Academy & Innovation Center is designed as a platform for digital skill development for the younger generation.
The program will offer various training, from digital content creation, coding classes, introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), to the utilization of coworking spaces as areas for collaboration and innovation.
According to him, mosques not only function as places of worship but also play an important role in building human resource quality.
"Mosques are not just centers of worship, but also centers of civilization and human resource development. Through this program, we want to create a generation of mosque-goers who are tech-savvy, productive, and capable of providing broader benefits to the community," he concluded.
