Handled by Metro Police, Bareskrim Continues to Monitor Grace Natalie Case Related to Jusuf Kalla's Sermon Video
Tangsellife.com - The case of alleged dissemination of video clips of lectures by the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK), which implicates the Deputy Chairperson of the PSI Advisory Board, Grace Natalie, is now officially handled by the Polda Metro Jaya. Nevertheless, the Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) of the National Police emphasized that they will not shirk responsibility and will continue to provide assistance in the handling process.
The Director of General Crimes Investigation (Dirtipidum) of the National Police's Bareskrim, Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the case transfer was carried out to ensure the investigation process runs more effectively, as similar reports had already been filed with Polda Metro Jaya earlier.
Bareskrim Continues to Provide Assistance
Wira explained that even though the case files have been transferred to Polda Metro Jaya, the Bareskrim will continue to supervise and provide assistance throughout the investigation process.
"Indeed, it is because there was a previous report at the Polda, so it's better to consolidate them. We are still providing assistance, we are still backing up Polda Metro," Wira told reporters on Thursday (25/6/2026).
According to him, the consolidation of handling is done because the reports share the same location of the incident (locus) and time of the incident (tempus).
"If it's within the same locus and tempus, and the object of the case is also the same, then we consolidate the handling," he said.
Originating from Reports by 40 Islamic Organizations
This case originated from reports filed by 40 Islamic mass organizations (ormas) united under the Alliance for the Harmony of Religious Communities to the National Police's Bareskrim.
Through the representative of LBH Syarikat Islam/SEMMI, Gurun Arisastra, they reported three names: Grace Natalie, Ade Armando, and Permadi Arya alias Abu Janda.
The report relates to the alleged dissemination of video clips of Jusuf Kalla's lectures, which were deemed to have caused controversy among the public.
The official report is registered under the number LP/B/185/V/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri dated May 4, 2026.
Complainant Undergoes Examination at Polda Metro
On Wednesday (24/6/2026), Polda Metro Jaya examined Gurun Arisastra as the complainant in the case.
During the examination, Gurun stated that he brought several pieces of evidence that had also been submitted when filing the report at the National Police's Bareskrim. In addition to the evidence, he also explained the chronology of the case and the parts of the video that were considered to be legal issues.
While respecting the investigation process, Gurun expressed regret over the decision to transfer the case from Bareskrim to Polda Metro Jaya.
According to him, the case not only concerns Jusuf Kalla personally but also relates to issues of religious harmony and national unity.
Legal Process Still Ongoing
As of now, the investigation is still ongoing at Polda Metro Jaya with assistance from the National Police's Bareskrim. Police officials have not yet announced conclusions regarding the existence or absence of criminal elements in the report.
The police have also not yet named any suspects in the case of alleged dissemination of Jusuf Kalla's lecture video clips implicating Grace Natalie, Ade Armando, and Permadi Arya.
