UNPAM Students Invite SMK Putra Satria Students to Learn Digital Business Through Social Media and E-Commerce

Digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and marketplaces can be utilized as opportunities to build businesses and generate income. This spirit is what the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pamulang (UNPAM) brought through Community Service (PKM) activities at SMK Putra Satria, South Jakarta.
The activity, themed "Utilization of Social Media and E-Commerce as a Means of Digital Entrepreneurship Development", was held on May 19, 2026, as part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) and to equip students with business skills in the digital era.
UNPAM Students Introduce Digital Business Opportunities
In the training, students were guided to understand that social media can be an effective promotional tool for building a business from a young age. Additionally, participants were introduced to various digital marketing strategies that are widely used by businesses today.
The material presented included how to build brand identity, create engaging promotional content, utilize social media as a marketing tool, and use e-commerce platforms to expand market reach without needing a physical store.
Students Enthusiastically Participate in Training
The training was interactive, starting with greetings from the school, the supervising lecturer, and representatives from UNPAM students. Subsequently, participants engaged in a material presentation session combined with discussions, Q&A, and ice-breaking activities to maintain a fun learning atmosphere.
Throughout the activity, students actively asked questions about digital promotion strategies, building brands, and how to attract customers through social media.
Social Media and Marketplaces as Entrepreneurship Opportunities
During the material session, it was explained that platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business have become primary marketing channels for businesses today.
Meanwhile, marketplaces are considered capable of helping MSMEs and beginner entrepreneurs market their products more easily, quickly, and reach consumers from various regions.
Through the utilization of digital technology, business building opportunities are increasingly open for the younger generation, including students who wish to start their own businesses.
School Appreciates Community Service Program
SMK Putra Satria South Jakarta welcomed the activity. According to the school, the material provided is highly relevant to the needs of vocational school students who are prepared not only to enter the workforce but also to create employment opportunities through independent businesses.
The head of the PKM implementation explained that the development of digital technology opens many new business opportunities that the younger generation can utilize creatively and responsibly.
He expressed hope that students would utilize social media not only as a means of entertainment but also as a productive medium for developing businesses and enhancing entrepreneurial skills.
Through this activity, Universitas Pamulang students hope that SMK Putra Satria students will have the knowledge and skills to develop digital businesses through social media and e-commerce, while also strengthening the collaboration between higher education institutions and schools in nurturing a young generation that is creative, adaptive to technological developments, and ready to compete in the workforce and business world.
