Pilar Urges Tangsel Residents to Support the 2026 Economic Census
Tangsellife.com - The Tangerang Selatan City Government invites the public to actively participate in the 2026 Economic Census Tangsel BPS held by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
Deputy Mayor of Tangsel, Pilar Saga Ichsan, emphasized that the success of the 2026 Economic Census Tangsel BPS greatly depends on community involvement in providing accurate and honest data.
This invitation was conveyed during the 2026 Economic Census Readiness Rally at the Tangerang Selatan City Government Center on Friday (12/6/2026), which was attended by approximately 500 officers out of a total of 1,017 surveyors.
2026 Economic Census Tangsel BPS Becomes Policy Basis
According to Pilar, the 2026 Economic Census Tangsel BPS plays an important role as the basis for formulating regional development and economic policies.
“With accurate data, we no longer rely on intuition. All policies must be data-driven,” he said.
He added that the census results will provide a comprehensive picture of the community's economic conditions, including the development of business sectors in Tangerang Selatan.
2026 Economic Census Tangsel BPS Involves Thousands of Officers
The implementation of the 2026 Economic Census Tangsel BPS will involve more than a thousand surveyors who will go to all areas of Tangerang Selatan City to conduct data collection.
The Tangerang Selatan City Government has also coordinated with OPDs, sub-districts, and villages to ensure the data collection process runs optimally.

Residents Asked to Support 2026 Economic Census Tangsel
Pilar urged the public not to hesitate to welcome census officers who come to their homes. He emphasized that the data provided by residents will be kept confidential and used only for statistical purposes.
“The officers are BPS surveyors, the public does not need to worry and is expected to provide data honestly,” he said.
2026 Economic Census Tangsel for Targeted Policies
Data from the 2026 Economic Census Tangsel BPS will not only be used to observe macro-economic conditions but will also serve as the basis for policies in various sectors such as education, health, employment, and social assistance.
Pilar stressed that the success of the census is a shared responsibility between the government and the community.
“Good data will result in good policies as well,” he concluded.
