PSSI Tangsel Prepares Free World Cup 2026 Viewing Parties, Targeting Quarter-Finals Onwards
Tangsellife.com - The Tangerang Selatan PSSI City Association (Askot) plans to hold free World Cup 2026 viewing parties (nobar) for the public. The event is expected to start when the tournament enters the quarter-final stage.
Currently, the 2026 World Cup has entered the knockout phase with 32 teams remaining, competing for tickets to the round of 16. The round of 16 is scheduled to take place starting July 5, 2026, while the quarter-finals begin on July 10, 2026.
Free Viewing Parties for All Citizens
The Chairman of Askot PSSI Tangerang Selatan, Erlangga Yudha Nugraha, said his party is finalizing the concept for the viewing parties, which will be open to all citizens.
According to the man affectionately known as Angga, the viewing parties will likely start from the quarter-final stage until the final match.
"Yes, hopefully, we will hold viewing parties. But it will start from the quarter-finals upwards, whether it's the quarter-finals, semi-finals, or finals," Angga told reporters on Monday (29/6/2026).
He assured that the public would not be charged to attend the event.
"It will definitely be open to the public. Football is for everyone, and everything will be free," he said.
Bintaro is a Considered Location
Although the venue has not yet been confirmed, Angga admitted to being interested in holding the viewing parties in the Bintaro area. However, the final decision still awaits the match schedule and the countries that qualify for the quarter-finals.
"Yesterday, during the opening of Warkop Polim in Bintaro, I was quite interested in holding viewing parties there," he said.
He added that Askot PSSI Tangsel would not hold viewing parties for all matches.
"We will see later which teams are in the quarter-finals, and we will also choose the matches. We won't be watching all of them," he said.
Hundreds of Spectators Predicted
Angga predicted that public enthusiasm would increase if favored nations managed to reach the quarter-final stage.
"If we're talking about the quarter-finals, maybe more than hundreds will come," he said.
He assured that the complete schedule along with the viewing party locations would be announced through social media and the official channels of Askot PSSI Tangerang Selatan once all preparations are complete.
"Yes, I will definitely announce it on the PSSI Tangsel media later," he concluded.
