Tangsel City Government Trains Civil Servants to Master AI for Public Services
Tangsellife.com - The Tangerang Selatan City Government (Pemkot) continues to accelerate digital transformation through the AI ASN Tangsel public service training to improve bureaucracy and public service quality.
This step is realized through a workshop titled “AI Empowerment for Government: Breaking the Limits” held in Ciputat, Tangerang Selatan. The activity involved dozens of civil servants (ASN) from various Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), sub-districts, villages, to community health centers.
AI ASN Tangsel Public Service Becomes the Focus of Transformation
This AI ASN Tangsel public service training featured national information technology expert, Prof. Onno W. Purbo, as the main speaker. Participants were equipped with an understanding of the utilization of artificial intelligence in supporting bureaucratic work.
The Mayor of Tangerang Selatan, Benyamin Davnie, emphasized that technological changes demand ASN to adapt quickly.
“The world has changed now, technology is developing very rapidly. ASN must be able to adapt and utilize artificial intelligence,” said Benyamin through the Head of Diskominfo Tangsel, TB Asep Nurdin.
AI ASN Tangsel Public Service Drives Bureaucratic Efficiency
According to the Tangerang Selatan City Government, the implementation of AI ASN Tangsel public service is believed to be able to increase work efficiency by 30–40 percent, especially in administrative tasks such as document preparation, data processing, and policy analysis.
Diskominfo Tangsel also explained that AI will be used to accelerate public complaint services through a Natural Language Processing (NLP) based system that can operate 24 hours.
In addition, AI technology will also be applied in the health sector to predict potential diseases and manage patient queues at community health centers.

AI ASN Tangsel Public Service for Smart Governance
The utilization of AI ASN Tangsel public service also targets regional development planning through big data analysis so that social assistance distribution is more accurate.
On the internal side, AI is used to accelerate administrative processes and the preparation of policy documents to be more efficient.
Challenges in Implementing AI ASN Tangsel
Despite providing many benefits, the Tangerang Selatan City Government emphasizes the importance of caution in the use of AI, especially regarding data security and the potential for misinformation.
“AI must be an assistant, not a replacement for ASN. Decisions remain in human hands,” emphasized TB Asep Nurdin.
The Tangerang Selatan City Government is also preparing three main steps, namely prompt engineering training, the preparation of ethical regulations, and the integration of AI systems into one-stop digital services.

Through this training, the Tangerang Selatan City Government hopes to form a more responsive, efficient, and data-driven bureaucracy. This transformation is targeted to make Tangsel one of the pioneers of smart governance in Indonesia.
