Roy Suryo's Camp Denies Political Party Affiliation, Mentions Jokowi
Tangsellife.com - Roy Suryo's legal counsel, Ahmad Khozinudin, denied accusations that his client was involved in a politically motivated movement related to the case of alleged fake diplomas of the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
He emphasized that his party has no affiliation with any political party and is solely focused on the ongoing legal process.
Roy Suryo's Camp Emphasizes It's Not a Political Movement
According to Ahmad Khozinudin, his party has been working to expose issues they consider to be of public interest, not a practical political agenda.
"We are not affiliated with any political party," Khozinudin said in Jakarta on Monday (22/6/2026).
He also stressed that Roy Suryo and others involved are not political party cadres nor are they contesting in elections.
Mentions Jokowi's Close Ties with PSI
In his statement, Roy Suryo's camp also responded to President Jokowi's side. He mentioned that Jokowi is said to have close ties with the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).
According to him, this actually shows a political dimension in the developing issue.
He even suspected a political motive from certain parties for the issue to remain in public attention leading up to the 2029 Election.
Two Suspects Have Reached Stage Two
Meanwhile, in the development of the case, two suspects, namely Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma or Dokter Tifa, have undergone further legal proceedings.
Both were previously arrested by Polda Metro Jaya on Friday (19/6/2026), before undergoing a health examination at the Police Hospital Kramat Jati.
After that, both were taken to the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office for stage two, which is the handover of suspects and evidence.
"Today, Monday, June 22, 2026, around 09:15 AM Western Indonesian Time, the two suspects will be processed to stage two," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto.
Case Files Are Complete
Polda Metro Jaya confirmed that the legal process against the two suspects has proceeded according to procedure, from reporting, investigation, to penyidikan (inquiry).
The case files for both have also been declared complete or P21 and are ready to proceed to the prosecution stage.
