Misbakhun Criticizes PDIP: A Two-Legged Stance is Inelegant
Tangsellife.com - Chairman of the Economic Affairs of the Golkar Party DPP, Mukhamad Misbakhun, highlighted national political dynamics, particularly regarding the stance of several political parties in responding to the government.
He urged all political elites to adopt a more mature attitude and avoid using narratives that could inflame the national political situation.
Criticism Should Cool Down the Atmosphere
Misbakhun emphasized that criticism is an important part of democracy. However, criticism should be delivered responsibly, especially amidst a global situation full of pressure.
“Criticism is important in democracy, but it must be delivered with full responsibility, not to make the situation hotter,” said Misbakhun, Sunday (21/6/2026).
According to him, political elites must be able to maintain stability and not get trapped in narratives that provoke public tension.
Highlighting PDIP's Political Stance
On that occasion, Misbakhun also touched upon the political stance of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), which chose to be outside the government as a balancing force.
He admitted to respecting that position but deemed consistency in political stance to be necessary.
According to him, political parties should not be ambiguous by only taking advantage of government policies deemed positive, but also quickly criticizing when there are unpopular policies.
“A two-legged political position is not elegant,” he asserted.
Requesting Political Parties to Be More Consistent
Misbakhun believes that the public needs clarity of stance from political parties as part of democratic education.
He emphasized that consistency is far more important than an attitude that changes according to political situations.
“Feel free to have different views, but don't let the public get the impression of ambiguity in political stances,” he said.
Encouraging Collaborative Politics
Furthermore, Misbakhun urged all political parties to prioritize cooperation in facing various national issues.
According to him, national challenges cannot be solved by merely blaming each other, but require the contribution of ideas from all political forces.
“Politics must prioritize national insight and national interests above fleeting political interests,” he said.
PDIP Affirms Balancing Position
Previously, PDIP DPP Chairman Ganjar Pranowo asserted that his party is officially outside the government as a balancing force.
He stated that this position is an organizational decision and part of the checks and balances function in democracy.
PDIP also stated that it will continue to support government policies that favor the people, but will criticize policies deemed inappropriate.
