FH UBK Student Council Holds Open Hearing Regarding Alleged Fund Flow
The Executive Board of Students of the Faculty of Law, Bung Karno University (BEM FH UBK) held an internal open hearing to follow up on allegations of fund acceptance by officials leading up to the demonstration in the State Palace area on Monday (15/6/2026).
This step was taken after the circulation of a video confession from one of the BEM FH UBK officials who mentioned operational fund flows related to student action activities. The video then went viral on social media and triggered a strong reaction from students within the campus environment.
In the circulating recording, the Chairman of BEM FH UBK apologized in front of students and the academic community.
“I admit my mistake and apologize to all of you,” said Abdi in a statement quoted from the circulating video.
Confession and Two Versions of Alleged Fund Flow
Based on circulating information, there are two versions of confessions regarding the alleged fund flow. First, there was an offer of funds before the action, which was said to come from certain parties. Second, there was pocket money of around Rp1.5 million to Rp2 million per person after attending a meeting with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Demonstration and Audience at the Vice Presidential Palace
Previously, around 15 student representatives from UBK, Universitas Terbuka, and Universitas MH Thamrin participated in an action in the Patung Kuda area, Central Jakarta on June 15, 2026. After the action, they were then invited to dialogue with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace.
In the meeting, the students conveyed a number of demands, ranging from issues of education policy, budget transparency, to evaluation of government programs.
Internal Demands of BEM FH UBK
Following up on the developing polemic, the internal BEM FH UBK issued 10 points of demands against the parties allegedly involved. One of them requested an open clarification, the creation of an official statement, and resignation from organizational positions if proven to have violated regulations.
To date, the internal clarification process is still ongoing and there has been no final decision regarding the alleged fund flow.
